Why were we founded?
Epsilon Rho was founded on April 17, 1982 on the ideals of leadership, scholarship, and service. We hold these in high regard and work diligently to maintain them.

General Facts
- Sigma Pi was founded February 26, 1897, at Vincennes University in Indiana.
- Originally called Tau Phi Delta society, the organization became a national fraternity and was renamed Sigma Pi in 1907.
- The four founders of Sigma Pi were William Raper Kennedy, James Thompson Kingsbury, George Martin Patterson and Rolin Rosco James.
- Today, the Sigma Pi brotherhood includes over 5,000 undergraduates and 62,000 alumni.
- The fraternity jewel is the emerald, flower is the lavender orchid, and colors are lavender and white.
- Sigma Pi has 139 active chapters in 30 states and Canada.
- Shadowwood, a 13-acre country estate in Vincennes, Indiana, originally served as the International Headquarters of the Fraternity. On the grounds were benches that represent respective university chapters. Today, the International Headquarters reside in Brentwood, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville.
