Community Service

Service is one of the ideals of Sigma Pi. Therefore, the brothers of Sigma Pi realize the importance of helping those in their community and the world around them. During the 2005-2006 school year, we invested more than 1,213 community service hours. Here is a look at some of our major community service projects:
ACE Project
With a kick off pig roast scheduled for the spring semester, the brothers of Sigma Pi plan to implement a campus-wide paper and glass recycling initiative on Drury's campus.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Hosting a campus-wide blood drive each year, the members of the Epsilon Rho chapter actively support their national philanthropy, the American Red Cross.
MS 150 Bike Tour, National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Long time supporters of the MS 150 Bike Tour, brothers annually volunteer to park vehicles, load luggage and register cyclists for the more than 900 riders who participate in the Bike Tour. In addition, this year five brothers of Epsilon Rho participated in the actual Bike Tour, each riding more than 150 miles and fundraising a total of $1,000.00 to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
AIDS Walk Benefit
Student-volunteers provide parking, registration and in-route direction for the participants of the annual AIDS Walk Benefit.
Adopt-A-Street Program
The Epsilon Rho chapter has adopted a one mile section of street neighboring Drury's campus. The chapter actively maintains the street throughout the year.
The Good Community—Serving for Elderly Neighbors
Extending outreach to the neighbors of the past Sigma Pi house on campus, brothers have adopted an elderly woman's house to maintain. At least once a semester, brothers pick up debris, rake leaves and remove tree limbs from the yard.
